【E.T.】故事开始在万圣节前一周，主角Elliot希望能参与哥哥Michael的游戏，却反被Michael命令到外面拿pizza进来。

Elliot路过在外面的小木屋，却发现有点不对劲…

小木屋里躲了一只奇特的生物！

Elliot赶忙跑回去跟家人说他看到了一只妖精(goblin),但当然，大家都不相信他…

隔天早上，Elliot决定要回去把妖精找出来，却发现有很多奇怪的人也在找东西

Elliot担心这些人不知道会对妖精做出什么事，下定决心要先一步找到妖精！

结果，糖果成功把它引来了！

Elliot把它介绍给Michael跟妹妹Gertie，大家都觉得很不可思议。

这时候这位妖精跟大家表示，它是从天上来的，还用了神秘的力量把一些水果呈现出太阳系的模型！

原来，它不是妖精，它是外星人，是来自外星的生物(extra-terrestial)，

Elliot因此帮他取了E.T.的名字作简称。

接下来的日子，E.T.秘密地在Elliot家生活，还学会了讲话

E.T.跟大家表示，他需要造一台发讯器，联系在远方的家人。

Elliot跟大家想出了一个计划，要把E.T.带到山上

这也是电影非常经典的一幕，Elliot骑着脚踏车把E.T.载到天上，背后还有大大的月亮
